So I got back from a school trip to
We went down for the weekend and I managed to fit 4 shows into 2 days!
Friday night I saw Spring Awakening, It's one of the best and most powerful shows I've ever seen. The cast was amazing, so young and talented, the music in the show was so wonderful that i got the soundtrack during intermission. I bought my ticket to this show over the Christmas break because I wanted to make sure that I would get into this show, but the catch to buying your tickets online is that you cant choose your seat, they just give you the best available seating. I was kind of worried that I would be near the back since all the good seats would be gone, but it turned out that my seat was in the front row! I couldn’t believe it, I front row seat to a Broadway show with it's original cast, stuff like this just doesn’t happen!
The next day I saw Chicago at 2pm, I knew that would be good but the real treat in this show was that I got to see Bebe Neuwirth as Roxie Heart. Everyone knows her from Frasier as his ex-wife, but she’s really a dancer at heart and originated the role of Velma Kelly in
Sat night I saw one of the funniest musicals I've ever seen.... ready for this? Evil Dead The Musical! I don’t even know how to describe how amazing this show was. I went in expecting it to be a mediocre show, but still a good time. Well let me tell you, this was a fantastic show, I laughed harder in that theatre than I have anywhere else, my cheeks hurt, not only were the effects great, the songs were amazing too (cant wait till the cd comes out!) Plus it was only $26 to get in. If I go back to NY and its still playing I’m definatly seeing it again, it's a must see!
As a small side note we got our parts for our 1st year show (our auditions were last week) I got a solo singing I'm Not That Girl from Wicked, and I'm one of the backup singers in Marko's song, he's singing Fame! so that’s going too be exciting :)
